Buying Wholesale Jewelry from the Grand Bazaar for the USA: A Buyer's Guide
Istanbul's Grand Bazaar has been one of the world's best-known jewelry centers for centuries. Jewelry brands, online stores and boutiques in the United States are now also considering producing and buying wholesale directly from workshops in Turkey. This guide summarizes what you need to know before placing a wholesale jewelry order from the USA with the Grand Bazaar.
Why work directly with a workshop?
When you shorten the chain of middlemen and importers, communication, model changes and quality control become faster and more transparent. Working directly with a workshop means talking to the team that produces your design. We offer both ready models and production from scratch; only Panther and Melis are in ready stock, and all other products are made to order. For an overview, see our wholesale jewelry from Turkey to the USA page.
Which products is it suitable for?
We produce in gold jewelry (9K, 10K, 14K, 18K; yellow, white, rose), diamond and lab-grown diamond jewelry, and 925 sterling silver jewelry. Product types include rings, necklaces, earrings, bracelets and men's jewelry. For example, wholesale gold jewelry and lab-grown diamond tennis bracelet manufacturing are groups US buyers often ask about.
1. Quote and model selection
The first step is to tell us what you want: reference images, product type, karat, stone and estimated quantity. You can send them through the quote form or to info@oskasilver.com. Because price, minimum quantity and production time vary by model, they are confirmed in writing at the quotation stage; we do not give figures in this guide.
2. Sample
When working with a workshop far away, the sample is the foundation of trust. Samples are paid; if the sample turns into an order, the amount paid is deducted from the order total. We recommend moving to series production after you have reviewed the sample and approved details such as size, stone setting, finish and clasp.
3. Certificate and hallmark
Diamonds and lab-grown diamonds are delivered with certificates such as GIA or IGI, and every product carries a karat hallmark. These documents give confidence when selling to end customers in the USA. For the difference between stone types, see our lab-grown vs natural diamond article.
4. Payment terms
A deposit is taken when the order is confirmed and the balance is paid on delivery. Details such as payment method and currency are settled together at the quotation stage.
5. Insured shipping
International shipments are sent insured; for valuable products this should be a requirement. Matters such as customs and import duties vary by country and product group; we recommend working with your own customs broker on US import regulations and tax obligations. We do not promise any current rate or timing here.
6. Brand and confidentiality
If you want production for your own brand, see our private label page. Customer-specific designs are never produced for others, and a non-disclosure agreement is signed on request. For the steps of building your brand, you can read our private label guide.
Buyer checklist
- Is it a manufacturer or a middleman? (manufacturer selection checklist)
- Is there a karat hallmark and a stone certificate?
- Are the sample and payment terms in writing?
- Is shipping insured?
- Is there an NDA option for design confidentiality?
