Jewelry CAD Design and Prototyping
Whether a piece of jewelry will cause problems in production usually becomes clear at the CAD stage. OSKA designs jewelry models in 3D for brands and jewelers, prepares them for manufacturing and makes a sample before any production run.
What we settle at the CAD stage
- Dimensions and proportion: ring size, bracelet diameter, thickness and overall proportions.
- Target weight: weight is calculated for the chosen karat, so cost can be estimated early.
- Stone seats: each seat is drawn to the dimensions of the stone it will hold.
- Mechanisms: clasps, hinges and moving parts are checked.
- Manufacturability: wall thicknesses suitable for casting and stone setting are defined.
What we can start from
- A hand drawing or sketch
- Photos and reference images
- A sample or an older model you already have
- A CAD file prepared elsewhere (checked for production and corrected where needed)
Prototype and sample
From the approved CAD model we make a prototype and then a sample in the actual metal. With the sample in hand you see dimensions, weight, stone seating and surface on the real piece. Your corrections are applied to the model, and the production run is made from that approved model.
Why CAD with the manufacturer
A drawing that only looks good can fail at casting or stone setting. Having the model drawn by the atelier that will make it reduces later corrections and the risk of waste. We therefore run CAD work together with our gold manufacturing and stone setting and finishing teams.
Frequently asked questions
I only have a photo. Is that enough?
In most cases, yes. We confirm dimensions, karat and stone details with you and prepare the model.
Can I see the model before production?
Yes. CAD renders are sent for your approval, and production does not start without it.
Can you use my existing CAD file?
Yes. We review the file for production and suggest corrections where needed. Send it through the quotation form.
